Privacy Policy

Zomplet has no user accounts, no sign-up wall and no way for us to link a reader to their identity. There is no newsletter to subscribe to and no gameplay to record, because we do not operate a game. That makes the data we hold unusually small, and this page describes it exactly rather than in general terms.

Our position is set out in full on the disclaimer page, and if you would rather start with the content, the home page compares the seven games and the guide index lists every guide we publish.

The short version

  • We do not ask for, and have no way to store, your name, address, phone number, payment details or identity documents.
  • We do not ask you to create an account, and there is no profile for us to associate a visit with.
  • We do not run a newsletter and we do not have a mailing list.
  • We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone.
  • We do not use third-party advertising or tracking networks.
  • We do not record, monitor or have any visibility into your gameplay on any platform.

What the site itself stores

The site is a set of static files. Reading a guide does not involve an account, a form submission or a database record of you. The one piece of information that reaches us without you doing anything is the ordinary server request your browser makes when it fetches a page, and the same applies to any website on the internet.

What is collected simply by loading a page, and why each item is needed.
DataWhy it is collectedHow long it is kept
IP addressDelivered in the request header for security, abuse prevention and to apply rate limitingShort-lived operational logs, typically 30 days or less
User agent stringUsed to distinguish browsers and devices for troubleshooting and to serve the correct layoutShort-lived operational logs, typically 30 days or less
Requested path and referrerTo understand which guides are read and which links are followed, in aggregateAggregate reporting only, with no individual-level record
Browser storageSet only if you leave an opinion about a guide. It stays on your device and is never sent to usUntil you clear it

Cookies and local storage

We set no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies and no third-party cookies of any kind. The site does use your browser's local storage for one narrow purpose: if you leave a short comment on a guide, it is held on your device so you can still see it after a refresh, and it is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser storage removes it permanently and there is nothing for us to recover, because it never reached us.

Where the site is served through a content delivery network, the network may keep short-lived operational logs of its own in order to deliver files efficiently and block abuse. That processing happens under the network's own policies, and it does not involve any of the information described above being linked to an identity.

If you email us

If you contact us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as it takes to deal with the matter and to keep a record of any correction that results from it. We use your address to reply and for nothing else. We do not add correspondents to any marketing list, because there is no marketing list, and we do not pass the details to anyone else. If you ask us to delete what we hold, we will.

Please do not send us identity documents, payment details, card numbers, passwords or one-time verification codes. We do not need them to correct an error or answer a question, and we will delete anything like that if it arrives.

Third parties

We link to one external publication, which is identified as a partner whenever it appears on the site. When you follow that link, the destination site has its own privacy policy and its own practices, and we have no control over what it does. We do not embed third-party content, we do not run advertising, and we do not use analytics or tracking networks of any kind, so no third party receives a record of your reading habits through us.

Your rights

In practice, the rights that matter here are simple. You can ask us what we hold about you, and we will tell you, which in most cases will be the content of one email thread. You can ask us to correct it or to delete it, and we will do so. You can ask us to stop contacting you, and we will, since we contact people only when they write to us first. If you are in a jurisdiction with formal data protection rights, they apply to us in full, and the contact page is how to exercise them.

Data we never receive

To be explicit about the boundaries, we do not receive your gameplay, your bets, your wins or losses, your account credentials, your identity documents, your payment details, your location, or your device identifiers. We are not in a position to monitor any of it, and we do not want to be. If a platform asks you to share your data with a third party, that is a separate arrangement between you and them, and it is not us.

Children

This site is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not knowingly provide services to anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top reflects the last review, and any substantive change will be described rather than quietly made. Our editorial position is set out on the disclaimer page, and you can reach us through the contact page with any question about it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to read Zomplet?

No. There is no sign-up wall, no account and no profile. You can read every guide on the site without telling us anything beyond the ordinary request information your browser sends to fetch a page, which every website receives.

Do you track what I am playing or betting?

No, and we could not if we wanted to. We do not operate a game platform and have no access to any account, bet, or gameplay record. Nothing about your activity on any platform is visible to us.

Do you use cookies or advertising trackers?

No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set, and we use no analytics or tracking networks. The only local storage is used to keep a comment visible on your own device after a refresh, and it is never sent to us.

Will you sell my email address?

No. We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone under any circumstances, and we do not keep a mailing list. If you email us, we use your address to reply to you and to keep a record of any correction that came out of it.

What should I do if I sent you sensitive information by mistake?

Tell us and we will delete it. Please do not send identity documents, card or bank details, passwords or one-time verification codes, because we never need them and we cannot safely hold them. A verification code should only ever be entered in an application's own request screen.

Does the partner link set a cookie or share data with the partner?

No. The link is an ordinary external link with no tracking parameters and no embedded content, so nothing is shared until you choose to follow it. At that point the destination site applies its own privacy policy, which is outside our control.

Prefer the rules to the trend pieces?

Our editorial partner publishes deeper material on Indian card games — the actual hand rankings, the variant differences that get argued about, and the legal position for real-money play, which is far more restricted than most app pages let on. If the specifics are what you came for, that is the better read.
